Tamara L Corbet
Area 8 – Lodge Hill, Alternate
I was born in Westminster, CA. I lived in Bakersfield mostly, until I moved to Cambria at age 15 in 1985. I graduated from Coast Union High School and graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I am an Enrolled Agent, licensed with the US Treasury Department. An Enrolled Agent is someone who has passed testing and shown competence as a tax expert and is qualified to prepare income tax returns and represent clients before the IRS. I have an office in Cambria where I work as an Enrolled Agent and have been working as one for 24 years.
LIVING ON THE NORTH COAST
I have lived in Cambria for 33 years. I moved here when I was in high school, loved it and stayed! I was a board member for the Cambria Youth Athletic Association for 10 years, including organizing the T-ball/coach pitch program, organizing the soccer program, and being President for 3 years. I was on the PTA at Cambria Grammar School for two years, serving as the Room Representative Coordinator and the Treasurer. I was on the Coast Union Bronco Boosters Club Board from 2012 to 2018. I was treasurer for five years and was the Sports Banner Coordinator for the last three years. I love the small-town feel, friendly people, the clean air and the open space.
WHY ARE YOU VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE ON THE NCAC?
Now that both of my children are in college, I thought it was time to find a new volunteer avenue, which is the NCAC. I am volunteering in order to learn more about what our community wants and what its needs are in making planning decisions. I hope to be able to serve our community by helping to provide the input of those wants and needs to those committees and other organizations that make the final decisions on our community’s planning.
