I was actually born in Paso Robles, but returned to San Simeon Village a week later and lived there until I was 17. I attended Coast High then went on to San Jose State for a B.A. in education. Later I earned my M.A. in learning handicaps from University of Santa Clara. I taught school in Cupertino for 30 years —teaching all grades K-6 – then moved on to resource specialist for part of that time.
LIVING ON THE NORTH COAST
I came back to the Central Coast as soon as I could. My late husband and I built our home on Park Hill 35 years ago. I returned permanently in 1996. I love the town, the people, the ocean, and the hills. THIS IS HOME. I volunteer at the Cambria Historical Society, CERT, Pewter Plough Playhouse, Cambria Library, Coastal Discovery Center, Cambria Chorale, Senior Nutrition, Historical Guides Association, Living History at Hearst Castle, University Women of Cambria, Visitor’s Center at Hearst Castle, FFRP, and Cambria Grammar School.
NATIONAL ENQUIRER TIDBITS
I recently published my story written by Michelle Oksen, THE REID’S JOURNEY TO SAN SIMEON. I mostly try to stay out of trouble.
WHY ARE YOU VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE ON THE NCAC?
I am interested to understand what makes this area tick. But I do sometimes wonder why I signed on to the NCAC.
