Area 5 – Lodge Hill
I was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and after leaving the United States Marines. I came to California and lived in Sierra Madre. I went to college and then worked most of my career in the space industry in management as a project engineer and supervisor. I retired from Verizon Communications as a manager.
LIVING ON THE NORTH COAST
My late wife, Marianne, and I purchased a home in 1986. In my heart I’m still a city boy, but the allure of a small town gave me an opportunity to get more involved with a community. I’m involved with the American Legion and I help out with HART. I’m learning to become an artist (oil painting), belong to the Dance Club, and I play in a softball league. I was vice president of the board for AMPSURF, a volunteer organization helping disabled victims by taking them surfing.
15 MINUTES OF FAME
After eight years, I was finally able to hit to right field (once).
WHY ARE YOU VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE ON THE NCAC?
The NCAC provides a forum for communications between the county and the North Coast. As an old-timer having gone around the block several times, I hope I can contribute to the current respected members of the board.
